A truly rare opportunity. A HERMAN MILLER LAFONDA chair w/ ALEXANDER GIRARD fabric (purple in color (blend of red, blue and purple threads))...and chrome base. The design for the chairs was made for the La Fonda del sol Restaurant, which was designed by Alexander Girard and opened in the Time-Life Building. The design for the chair resulted from a collaboration between Girard and the Eames Office. The shell was lowered so as to not be visible above the tabletop. All upholstery is in incredible shape (all tight, no holes or rips, all stitching is tights, no loose threads, foam is perfect... nothing coming undone from the perimeter plastic) All glides are t and original with some wear as expected ...The base is original to the seat and is chrome. The LaFonda style base is really unique. The chrome shows pitting and surface flecks to the chrome... see photos. The fiberglass is light cream in color. T is an embossed Herman Miller logo in the fiberglass.... Please see all photos and ask if you have any questions. Item is being sold as is so let me know if you have any questions prior to bidding. I've included many photos and have to the best of my knowledge described the chairs. You are bidding on one of these chairs but see my auctions for additional matching chairs. Shipping and packaging to the lower US STATES will be $60.These would be very expensive to ship to europe or NorthAmerica so please do not bid on these if you live outside of North America. Buyer also has the option of arranging their own shipping or picking them up.
