CONDITION REPORT:
This auction is for an "Original 1960's" Herman Miller, Eames "Time-Life" Stool, in Rich Figure Blocked Walnut, shows beauty of age through natural Patina. Stool is in EXCELLENT VINTAGE Structural & Physical Condition. On a scale of 1 to 10; 10 being highest, this Stool is a solid 9.0 and Stunning! It would be perfect, except for 1 obvious detraction when viewed from the floor. T is a "repaired" 3 inch crack at the bottom of the Top Tier (w it meets the middle; Look "Dead-Center" of Photo #6 Below). It really is not readily noticable. T are no additional dings, nicks, scratches, etc, anyw else on the stool, not even on the surface!!! And that is Extremely Rare to find. You couldn't ask for a better Vintage Stool for under $1000.00. You will be incredibly happy with this purchase, at any price, I promise.

The center section of the stool comes in three distinctively sculpted profiles.
Either side up: The top surface and smaller bottom surface are both concave.
Compact size: The stool is 15"H; top diameter is 13"H; bottom diameter is 11".

Ray Eames drew on her training as a sculptor to design a new kind of occasional piece for the lobby of the Time-Life Building in New York City. Eames walnut stools became her favorite seats and were liberally scattered about the Charles and Ray Eames home in Pacific Palisades. Made of solid walnut, these stools can be used anyw and are beautifully versatile. Besides being places to sit, they also serve as low tables, display surfaces, or simply objects of art to be admired.

A museum curator once ordered two of these stools for his son and daughter. "Graduation gifts?" he was asked. "No," he said, "the kids are only five and three. But I want them to have the experience of growing up with something truly good that they can keep all their lives."

With a grand sense of adventure, Charles and Ray Eames turned their curiosity and boundless enthusiasm into creations that established them as a truly great husband-and-wife design team. Their unique synergy led to a whole new look in furniture. Lean and modern. Playful and functional. Sleek, sophisticated, and beautifully simple. That was and is the "Eames look."

About Charles & Ray Eames
Husband-and-wife design team Charles (1907-1978) and Ray (1912-1988) Eames were among the most influential designers of the twentieth century. Their landmark contributions include furniture, architecture,film, and graphics. They were pioneers in the molding of plywood, which was developed from their experiments and projects for the U.S. Navy during World War II.
