you are bidding on an original eames shell chair from 1951-52 the chair has never been altered in any way!
this is the ultra rare rope edge with the venice, california label. thebase and mounts are also all stock original . i found this gem in an old defunct furniture store.........i ask the older gentleman owner if he had any items from the 50's .......he said he had one old plastic chair in the atic storage! he said it had set in the the display window for a time and never sold.... it was then put in the storage atic after being moved around the store for a period. it was really hard for me to keep my cool when he showed me the chair with 50 years of dust on it! anyway ....i purchased it ...took it home and its been part of my life from 2001 on . that makes me the original owner! i said i would never sell it but im now in a custody battle for my 3 and 4 year old sons ....so i need the money for legal fees! the chair is in good shape with no cracks , chips, etc the left arm does have alittle more fading than anyplace else but overall nice for its age .........i didnt try any waxing or dying tricks on it......what you see is what you get. the base will clean up alot nicer than it looks ........i didnt even clean it! oh.......its orange by the way! im also selling another rare piece of history.......... my 1952 emeco lounge sofa (try finding one of these babys) emeco only has them in their history books ! sells a clone for $2600 . i have two of these.... the one in the pics was recovered a few years ago (i use this one) the other is unrestored in storage . im going to start the recovered on at $1500 the other at $1000 . i will be selling a big part of my collection soon (even my mid century pad in tulsa,ok) .......keep checking with me im selling this item (shell cair) as/is high-bidderpays all shipping charges ($40 in the u.s 48 states) postal money order or paypal only please! also .......this is my bro's ebay you can check my super feedback under "tulsaboogie" dont miss out on these rare items!
