Herman Miller Action Office Roll Top Desk by George Nelson and Perch This vintage Herman Miller rose wood roll-top desk and perch (stool) was purchased new by my engineer father in the late 1960's. This was one of the first years that Herman Miller put out this type of desk I believe. The paint color is an aqua blue. Desk shows some edge wear and some light pitting on the chrome legs. The desk surface, as well as the wood on the filing cabinet side is in very good condition. The wood roll top has one broken wood rear piece, as shown in the pictures. This is the last piece on the rear of the rolling top, and could be remade by a decent wood worker, and would not be seen from the front of the desk. Then the roll top would be in good shape. I'm also including a black leather perch. This perch is a little wobbly from too many hours drafting. Will also include an orange book published in 1968 by Robert Propst (71 pages) entitled, "The Office: A facility based on change" that my father received from the Herman Miller dealer when he purchased this furniture. Includes black and white photo's of the desk and perch, and interesting text on how the "Action Office" will make the workplace more efficient. Hope that you enjoy these items as much as I have.
