Heroes All - Men of the Merchant Navy; Original British Goverment WW II Poster Honoring The British Merchant Navy AND Her Allies' Merchant Navies !! THIS IS MUSEUM RARE! THIS SAME POSTER IS IN THE IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM IN ENGLAND! In the Second World War, German U-boats sank nearly 14.7 million tons of allied shipping, which amounts to 2,828 ships (around two thirds of the total allied tonnage lost). The United Kingdom alone suffered the loss of 11.7 million tons, which is 54% of the total Merchant Navy fleet at the outbreak of the Second World War. 30,000 merchant seamen were killed aboard convoy vessels during the war, but along with the Royal Navy, the convoys successfully imported enough supplies to allow an Allied victory! THIS ORIGINAL WW II British Goverment Poster honored the British, & her allies, Merchant Navies - IT IS THE ONLY ONE OUTSIDE OF THE IMPERIAL MUSEUM THAT I HAVE FOUND! Poster has a crease across it's middle, which is normal because the posters were folded to be packed & shipped. There is also a small crease between the word ALL (next to HEROES ) & NAVIES in the bottom right section and a small stain on the back that does not show through poster. Poster is near mint;, this poster could have just left the printer in London! SEE THIS EXACT SAME POSTER IN LONDON'S IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM HERE: .uk/collections/item/object/3 read more
