For auction is a Herschede 8 day westminster chime mantel clock in good condition. The case has its original finish and is in good condition without any cracks, chips, or missing pieces. It's approximately 20" long.The bezel has a beveled glass. The hinge is intact and the bezel snaps closed properly.The movement has been running since last week. It's keeping good time and chiming every 15 minutes as it should. It is a westminster chime movement (model 20) and it strikes 4 notes at 15 minutes after the hour, 8 notes at 30 minutes, 12 notes at 45 minutes, and 16 notes on the hour followed by striking the hours on a separate rod. It has 5 chime rods. The movement serial number is in the 47,000 range which dates it to approximately 1925.The back door has a brass Herschede label announcing that they won a grand prize at an exhibition in 1915. Instructions for the movement are attached to the inside of the back door.A usable key is included, but isn't original to the clock.Although the clock is running fine now & chiming as it should, it may require minor adjustment after shipping, so it is sold "AS IS". It will be packed well and should arrive in good shape, but insurance is mandatory just in case.Please ask any questions before bidding. All clocks and electrical devices are sold "AS IS".
