Must Sell!! No reasonable offer refused!Phenomenal investment piece. is an absolutely magnificent drop front desk in excellent condition. I have several pictures of this, so please be patient and wait for them to load! It is dated 1887 on one of the hinges, and has beautiful intricate inlaid designs using copper, brass, pewter (?), mother-of-pearl, satinwood, and has wonderful hand carved detail on the legs, skirt and uniquely styled backsplash. The inlay is over the entire piece; on the front, sides, top, drawer fronts and even the slides that hold the desk top. The interior is amazing, with a thick marble overhang and ormolu accents on the top of the columns, and five ordinary and two hidden (column) drawers. This is complete with the three original keys and retains the original copper pulls on the drawers and brass escrutcheon. The details and time put into the making of this are incredible, t are small marks on each drawer to show which slot they belong in, and the inlays are all very finely done. This is a unique and outstanding piece that is truly one of a kind! It measures about 35" wide, 45" high, and 18" deep. It does show some signs of age, but no extraordinary damage. T is an old wood repair on the backsplash, and one small spot of missing wood in the skirt w the leg joins, which is very hard to notice beacuse of the location, but overall it has less signs of use than you would expect to find for it's 120 years. This is a personal item of my sister-in-law, she is battling cancer and is forced to sell off many of her personal items to help with the medical costs and ordinary living expenses until she is well enough to resume working. It is located in the fingerlakes region of New York, (14433) halfway between Syracuse and Rochester, and can be viewed in person if you wish.
