My father purchased this back in the 60s (if I recall correctly). He them proceeded to paint both the desk and chair red, to match the room at the time. About 8 years ago I attempted to strip paint off both pieces. While mostly complete, more work is needed. My plan was to stain in a different color. But since it has been about 8 years and my wife wanting to reclaim some garage space, I have decided to sell as is. The legs are still red. I did not do any stain removal to them. The desk is in fair condition. T is some damage under the main drawer, hopefully you can see in one of the pictures. The insides of the drawers are a little rough looking. I think the right person, who know about refinishing could perhaps do wonders with this desk. The chair is in better condition, but still needs some work. I believe the chair is referred to as a Dogbone Chair? This is a no reserve auction. The one catch is the winning bidder must pick up. I have no way to ship this. This is a very heavy solid wood desk. I live in Western Mass, Westfield to be exact. I am about 15 minutes from the Westfield exit off the Mass Pike. Please email me with any questions and I will do best to answer. Also if you have several more detailed questions, perhaps can arrange a phone call to discuss. Thanks for looking.
