Growing up near the sea made the photographer keenly aware of the tides. In this book, he pairs a beautiful, lush, simple image of the sea with an image of the moon at the corresponding lunar phase. Providing this celestial reference point for his particularly affecting tidal landscapes imbues these images with an otherworldly yet still grounded, contemplative quality.
