Forauction is my wonderful Highwood Solid Shell / Single Ply Maple Snare Drum. It is 14" x 5" and is a single solid piece of maple with reinforcing rings on top and botom. Finished in Vintage White Marine Pearl, this drum looks nearly as good as it sounds. There are some slight markings on the black nickel top hoop but not very noticeable at all. The shell is unmarked. This is a truly remarkable and versatile snare, equally at home with Jazz and Metal and a welcome addition to any drummers arsenal. This particular drum had the factory upgraded hoops, vintage looking tube lugs & hardware in black nickel added as an optional (paying) extra and I have only recently fitted the Evans 300 Hazy resonant head & Aquarian Modern Vintage batter head. The snare wires are the original factory fitted ones. Too many Snares & the like means this hardly gets out now so rather than having it gathering dust it has to go. Original cost was around £400 so at less than half of that now, somebody is in for a true bargain. I will also include a Protection Racket soft case to keep this drum looking as pretty as it does now. All items are described as accurately as I can so please – check out my feedback.
