That, my dear friends and collectors of my Resin Editions, is what I feel when I see how much you took my dolls to your heart; ‘Joy’ is therefore also the proper motto for my Edition in Resin 2009. It is already the fourth Resin Collection I have offered and I think that this time once again I meet the taste of my collectors. The dolls really are charming! I myself am completely delighted by my new resin models; they exude the pure joy of life that communicates itself to every onlooker. I am always fascinated to watch what happens between you and my dolls when you stand facing each other. Humans and dolls look at each other – and then something I have the impression that the dolls of my Edition in Resin 2009 develop, each for itself, a goodly amount of charm one cannot evade. Nonetheless, each doll is a character of her own and appeals to those people who are attracted by her, in a special, individual manner. This year’s group of dolls consists of five girls and a boy. You will surely agree when I say that the dolls could as equally be made of porcelain and belong to my Classic Line; they don’t lag behind those in modelling, expression and manufacture, but they are made of resin, which is excellently suited for dolls because it has this marvellous skin-like complexion giving my dolls the liveliness I like to see in them so much. It is much less easily damaged than porcelain so that the dolls do not mind being arranged in different poses – on the contrary: Thus they can show off to advantage their beautiful modelling, the liveliness of the expression and the wonderful clothing with the charming accessories I give my dolls for playing. This keeps living and playing with them interesting; looking at them will make you smile every day anew and is always a reason for joy. Because you, my collectors, know that so too each of my resin dolls is an original Hildegard Günzel model for which the same high quality standards are valid as for the dolls of my Classic Line. Each doll was completely designed, modelled and formed as a character by me, including the clothing I personally design for each doll. I only use high-quality materials: genuine hair for the wigs, mouth blown glass eyes from Lauscha, genuine leather, wool, cotton wool, velvet and silk taffeta. Because only quality is long-lasting and survives the times – and I wish that you enjoy your Hildegard Günzel doll all your life! The stars of this year’s Resin Collection surely are Marion and Joy. Joy has even given her name to the edition as the annual motto! With their height of 80 cm they are not only the largest dolls this year, they also are distinguished from the others with the colour of their clothing. On Marion’s wonderful, blond head of floating curls a large black satin bow is arranged; fitting with her dark-grey velvet dress with the red frill applications made of silk taffeta she is wearing ruby coloured patent leather boots and a coloured silk shoulder bag – a feast for the eyes! Joy is a happy smiling girl, always feeling in the mood for play. She loves to make others laugh which she shows with her special, colourful clothing. With her dark, spotted, knitted pinafore dress she is wearing a cotton sweatshirt and an orange soft boiled wool cardigan with knitted sleeves, a yellow neckerchief and cotton leggings.
