Listed for auction in a wonderful vintage commemorative Postal cover commemorating the Trans-Atlantic flight of Otto Hillig and Holgar Hoiriis which took place on June 24, 1931. The flight left from Teterboro New Jersey and departed for Denmark and lasted 32 hours. The cover is dual post marked Liberty New York [Home town of Hilllig and the name of their plane] and Denmark and is affixed with one U.S two cent postage stamp. The cover has a imprinted cachet commemorating their flight and is nicely signed Otto Hillig and Holgar Hoiriis in black fountain pen. The cover measures 3.50 x 6.00 inches and is in very fine condition. The cover will be accompanied with [not shown] numerous vintage period news articles written about their Trans-Atlantic crossing. It is a very nice early aviation cover and the condition is outstanding.
