This is the first of a selection of Ethnic Tribal themed bags - all machine embroidery is done by me with my own personal selections for thread colors. What a wonderfully unique shoulder bag! This washed black denim purse features a front pocket handknit by me - the yarn is 55% Hemp and 45% wool. I incorporated plant-dyed silk shreds as I knit and then felted it - turned out wonderful! The pocket is lined with unbleached cotton muslin for stability. The pocket closes with an Ethnic painted wood bead 'button' and braided hemp cord loop. You slip the two beads up / down to open or close the loop! The back pocket features : tea-dyed muslin (by me) at the top, a paisley quilter's cotton and 6 plant dyed cotton squares from a textiles artist in England (I buy direct from her studio). The Ethnic butterfly is embroidered over the 6 patchwork squares. The base of this bag is embellished with natural jute piping. The shoulder strap took me 1 week to knit as I used teensy knitting needles to make this strap which curls into itself for the lovely tube look. Knot it to the desired length - it's made with the same Hemp/wool yarn as the front pocket. Inside is lined in a vintage geometric cotton print with 3 handy pockets to keep you organized. The matching keychain can be used for your spare house and car key or attached to anything you desire! It is made with matching wood beads and has a loop so it can be slipped around the shoulder strap - macrame is IN again big time!!! I used natural hemp twine and the same 3 wood beads featured on the back pocket. This bag is timeless...will never be outdated - it's an artistic statement :-) Dimensions: 12 inches wide, 11 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches deep. Shoulder strap measures 57 inches.
