THIS AUCTION IS FOR AN INCREDIBLY SCARCE, HIGHLY DESIRABLE, ORIGINAL, ACTUAL HIRAM BITHORN (HI BITHORN) SIGNED CUT. LARGE STRONG SIGNATURE MEASURES APPROX. 3 INCHES LONG. BITHORN WAS 1ST PERSON EVER FROM PUERTO RICO TO PLAY MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL. HE PLAYED FOR THE CHICAGO CUBS (1942, 1943, AND 1946) AND CHICAGO WHITE SOX (1947).� After his second season, Bithorn fought for the� United States military� in� World War II.[2]� His promising start, though, did not last once he returned from military service.� Bithorn tried to make a comeback a few years later in the Mexican winter league. However, on December 28, 1951, at age 35, he was shot by police officer Ambrosio Castillo Cano, in El Mante,� Mexico.[2]� He was transferred to Ciudad Victoria's hospital, where he died the next day.
