Hiroaki Shotei - Rain Over Makura Bridge Shin Hanga – Horizontal Landscape – Pre Earthquake This is an early 20 th century print by Hiroaki Shotei. The print measures 379mm long by 141mm wide. There are a few ripples in the paper and some wear on the lower left hand side of the paper however the print is in overall “good” condition. The tan color on the horizon is the color the artist used to convey the feeling of this print. There were at least two versions of this print. There are a number of very informative public websites on this artist and increasing interest. I believe this work was made prior to the 1923 earthquake.
