MOONLIGHT AT THE RIVER AT SEBA

Up for auction, purchased from an estate sale is this Very Pretty Japanese Woodblock Print. One of the most famouse prints from the Sixty Nine Stations of the Kisokaido and a true Hiroshige masterpiece. This print is #32 of the Sixty Nine Stations and depicts a pretty Autumn Moonlight River Scene at Seba while a bargeman and raftsman pole their crafts.

This print is on rice paper originally purchased in the 1930's~40's and is in great condition, no fold, tears or creases measuring 13 3/4" wide x 8" tall with the matting. It was removed from the frame only to take photos. The print has the Hiroshige signature and date along with a makers seal in the lower right hand margin. The print has been taped in place against the matting which can easily be removed, and did not effect the print. It's housed in a matching wood frame with glass cover measuring 14 1/4" tall x 19" wide. The back of the frame is marked, The Framemakers' Gallery Louisville, Kentucky.
