This is VOLUMES 18 of the UKIYO-E MASTERWORKS COLLECTION Series. This volume is on HIROSHIGE and his visionary wood blocks of Kyoto. Stunningly produced, each volume in this original, hardcover, finely printed, slipcased series of Ukiyo-e Masterworks is SCARCE. This volume on Hiroshige - Kyoto is especially so. This volume contains 19 full-page color plates, plus a color plate on the title page, plus color plates on the cover and the slipcase. The images are gorgeous, among the finest reproductions in book form of Hiroshige's woodblock prints that you will every find. Illustrated hardcovers, approximately 9" x 12", in an illustrated slipcase. Printed on beautiful fine paper. Each image is printed on its own page. Pages are bound in a double-fold style (i.e. the front edge of each 2 leaves is uncut, with their interiors left blank) meaning that t is no printing on the verso of any page or any image. This allows for amazing brilliance in the color woodblock reproductions. Condition: NEAR FINE book, tight, bright, clean and unmarked; in a VERY GOOD slipcase that shows some rubbing/handling to the rear panel, and some light corner and edge wear. A beautiful, solid copy.
