is an outstanding example of some of the excellent workmanship and materials that went into some of the early portable phonographs! Note, particularly the quality of the chrome throughout this machine. The English at their best. If you know the history of the phonograph you will know that NIPPER, THE DOG started out as a painting in France and then to England as a trademark . You see it prominently displayed inside the top cover , as well as actually set into the chrome metal of the head which holds the needle!! A rare touch and in perfect condition.This machine comes with a RECORD CADDY, shown in picture 1 on the machine ready for travel, and again in picture 4 sitting off of the turntable. again, the quality of the English chromework is evident. This machine has been in my possession for more than 50 years!! At 83, I'm anxious that it go to a "good home" that will appreciate it and keep it in good working order for another 50 years.Not shown in detail, but noticed in the last picture ( #9) is a small black "push out" swivel cup to hold used needles! It is not pushed open in the picture. The mainspring is in good condition, and winds up well for playing. The speed control works! In fact everything about this little machine works well.
