The building assumed other names over the years: The Checkerdome, The Saint Louis Arena and some people affectionately referred to is as "The Barn".The building stood from 1929 until 1999 and housed many and varied events some of which were: concerts, conventions, horse shows, livestock expositions, Fireman's Rodeos, Police Circus's, Boxing matches, basketball games, hockey games, indoor soccer games and Boy Scout Shows.
