See the scans. This is "Old Gimlet Eye" Smedley Butler's WWI identification tag. I could write paragraphs about him, but if you don't know who he is, you won't be interested in this rare item, anyway. Suffice it to say that t isn't a U.S. Marine that is better known or more historic than the famous Smedley Butler. "Chesty" Puller is in the same league, along with Dan Daly and "Manila John" Basilone, but t are few others of their stature in the long, proud history of the Corps. Most of Butler's material is now in the Marine Corps Museum's hands, but this was obtained many years ago from the family. It is 100% genuine. This dates from Butler's regimental command with the 5th Brigade in France during WWI. He received the USMC Brevet Medal and the Medal of Honor twice! This would be the highlight of any Marine Corps or ID tag collection! Generally XF condition. NOTE: I am very good about getting my orders out promptly, sometimes the same day and almost always within 24 hours. However, lately the U.S. Postal service has been spotty; most parcels are delivered quickly, but a few are very slow. PLEASE NOTE: NO OVERSEAS SALES (CANADA AND U.S. ONLY). ALL ITEMS MUST HAVE AT LEAST MINIMUM ($50) INSURANCE. NO EXCEPTIONS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! Buyer pays $4.00 for insured postage. I will combine postage on multiple orders. PAY PAL, check
