Published by J A Allen , this is the hi story o f the Ro yal Army Veterinary Corps from the end of the First World War up to 1961. The RAVC can be traced back to the 18th century although it was not until 1918 that it was elevated to ' Royal' status in recognition of its services during WW1. A substantial part of this book is an account of the RAVC during the Second World War where its members, sometimes in very small numbers, were present in nearly all the theatres of war. In addition to caring for horses, mules and dogs, a wide range of animals came under their charge including elephants, camels, cattle and more. Slight handling wear to grey cloth boards. Worn protective tissue wrap. 244 pages, index, appendices, illustrations. Please note that this book will weigh 1.050kg with packaging.
