It is the 1982 First Edition Published by the Worshipful Company of Cooks for the Quincentenary of the Incorporation of the Company The establishment of trade guilds was a phenomenon of the middle ages an the cooks celebrated their 500th anniversary of the granting of their charter in 1982. This lovelybook is a history of the guild and covers such aspects as: the arms, associated companies, silver and plate, feasting, apprentices, benefactors, anniversaries, fremaidens, families. A chapter covers the 20th Century and the company today and the book is rounded off with 8 appendices Book in FINE condition with no inscription. Lovely bright red boards immaculate with gilt lettering and crest. There is a glassine wrapper but this is worn, torn with losses and is NOT seen in the scan.
