Offered at auction is a very nice example of theincreasingly hard to find classic Hitachi Model HT-L303 Linear Track, DC Servo belt drive turntable, working flawlessly and ready for immediate use. This superbly engineered low profile turntable was acquired from the estate of the original owner, having never been abused, and is physically and cosmetically in excellent overall condition. Not to be confused with the later series Hitachi linear models, this is the much higher quality model featuring the linear tracking arm system built into the top dust cover/arm assembly, which lifts completely away from the platter when the unit is opened. This unique design allows fool proof arm and stylus protection, very easy stylus cleaning access, and vinyl friendly protection from user error when in use. This unit has been extensively tested for all operations, providing equally user friendly, and sophisticated function from the processor controlled linear tracking system. The primary drive belt used to drive the platter is in great condition with correct tension. These design qualities result in glass smooth operation of arm tracking, and equally exact and smooth arm lift and positioning functions, fulfilling with superior results, the criteria expected from the non-skating linear arm tracking engineering of this high end design (the top of the line in the later HT series). The only cosmetic or physical flaws of any kind are the usual (minor) dustcover cleaning scuffs and small scratches from normal use. These are not noticeable, and do not detract from the overall beautiful appearance of the unit. Included is a high quality AudioTechnica Model AT 3482 P moving magnet cartridge, with elliptical stylus assembly. Again, this is in superb, extremely low hour use condition, sonically exceptional, with accurate extended response, excellent stereo separation, and superior dynamic range. Speed stability for both 33 1/3 and 45 operation is very accurate, and the turntable exhibits extremely quiet performance, rapid startup, and smooth arm return operation in both manual and automatic modes. Auto and manual arm lift functions, as stated are equally smooth, and the unit overall is in superb operating condition. The four heavy rubber feet of the bottom base plate are again, perfect, and afford excellent footfall and acoustic feedback isolation when in use. Because of the dry West Texas history of this unit, there is no corrosion or oxidation to the external or internal metal trim or chassis parts of this unit, and it is impeccably clean inside and out.

For anyone desiring a much better than usual example of these well made, esthetically superior turntables, here perhaps is an equally rare opportunity. Winning bidder to pre Payment will be expected within seven days from end of auction. Buyer to pay actual shipping charges (no packing or handling charges).
