Presented for auction is the Hitchcock Chair Company's American Eagle Chair designed in the1 9th Century Folk Art Eagle pattern. The painted and gilded chair has a curved back splat with a seat in cherry wood.This chair is the Hitchcock Chair Company's 20th Century Variation of The Traditional American Hitchcock Side Chair with the Following Elements: An Eagle Carved Open Wing Span Back Support Honoring The New Republic Of America traditional gilt & paint decoration.
The stenciling is a beautiful design. The chair has great turnings and design with no cracks, splits or breaks, and is in great original condition.On the back of the chair's seat is the Hitchcock Chair Company signature stating "L.HITCHCOCK, HITCHCOCKS-VILLE. CONN. WARRANTEED ® The front seat is 16 inches wide and 14 inches deep. The chair height is 33 inches tall from the floor to the top of the back.
