This ACF 10-car production afforded lucky UP travelers such an opportunity from delivery date in 1954 and 1955 until the cars were retired from the UP in the early 1970's. Most of the cars continued in service on private operators, including AutoTrain and Alaska Railroad. There were 36 seats in the lower area and 24 in the dome. Cars numbered 7000-7004 were assigned to the "Challenger". Cars 7005-7009 were assigned to the "City of Portland." This model is new in its original box where it has been stored since purchased new.
