This is a custom painted HO Brass PFM ATSF 3776 Class 4-8-4 Northern steam engine imported from United/Atlas in Japan. Thinning out my large collection of 3776 Class models. This model represents the 3776 engine type with thin roller bearing rods. It has a good amount of weight and will pull a lot of cars. It has an MV lense in the headlight with no installed light bulb. There is a kadee coupler on back of tender. The original reason I was bought this model is because, IMHO, of the great professional looking paint job and expert decal application. The smoke box front is painted close to tarpan gray and the rest of the engine has a "just shopped" new paint job. However it should be noted that the correct range of road numbers for 3776 class engines is 3776-3785. I knew this (apparently the painter did not and mis-numbered it) but bought the engine anyway intending to change the road number to 3778 at a later time. The 3775 road number applied to the model actually belongs to the 3765 class of engines with road numbers in range of 3765-3775. So if you are a purist, the road number 3775 is not correct for this 3776 class of engine model and should be changed to be correct. This should be easy enough to correct. If you are not purist then, given the great paint job and decal work done, I would leave it as is. The engine and tender read more
