HO Scale Brass Import Custom Brass Built in ???? / Made in Japan Factory Paint New York Central Class DES-3 Oil-Electric ( Diesel ) Standard DC Powered Locomotive Model Class S3 Type 2D2 used in passenger service, 600 VDC. Only 12 units total built in real life, built by ALCO GE from 1908 - 1909. Over all length was 43' 2.5". Four GE 84 traction motors used to power this car. 44" dia. wheels. Traction effort 37,500 Foot Pound. Total weight 242,000 Lbs. The later numbers were : 1135 thru 1146. Orig numbers 135 - 146. Operated under third rail or oil/electric. These were equipped with steam heat boilers for the passengers. This model is in mint shape, there are no obvious defects that we can find on this model. The box is original and in excellant shape. The model is used and looks as if it was never run!!! Please view the photos carefully and if you require more photos please do not hesitate to ask. Comes with the display plate. This is a rare gem that is very,very hard to find in this condition. This unit runs average.
