This is one FINE LOOKING Weathered Pair! A combination of a PENNSYLVANIA named 50 foot flat car with a wrecked 40 foot coal hopper car from the PEABODY SHORT LINE Railway. There are no pictures from the scene of the accident to go along with these - but you can tell by the damage on the hopper that the impacts made it non-repairable. So whether this scrapper is headed back to the yard for parts or to be melted down - can be be the story you come up with! Either way it is a great piece to add to a line up you already have. The well used old hopper was mangled up in a bad wreck and then loaded onto this Pennsylvania flat car and chained down with 'real chain'. And check out the details with turnbuckles at all four corners! Both cars are heavily weathered all-around to add to the overall character. Both of these cars are ATHEARN makes. The PRR flat has a 1-1950 build date but the PEABODY date is unreadable. You will be pleased to find Kadee couplers on the flat car along with good metal wheels. The road numbers are 460945 on the flat and PSL 6671 on the hopper. If you put this one on your layout, get used to hearing: "I just LOVE this one!" from many who first lay eyes on it! This Railroad Car has been customized with Paul's creative blends of chalk, India Ink and Dull-Cote at the Car Shops of the Shadow Canyon Scenic Railroad. As read more
