This is a very nice model in HO scale of the Southern Pacific Harriman GS-4 class 4-8-4 Northern steam locomotive. This is numbered 4452 - sister to the famous 4449 "American Freedom Train" locomotive preserved at the Oregon Rail Heritage Center in Portland. These Lima-built locomotives from 1941 have been described as the most beautiful locomotives ever built - especially in the Daylight paint scheme. These were high speed iron horses, racing for most of their lives along the California Coast, but later used on other routes. This is Broadway Limited Paragon 2 series that is loaded with features including sound, smoke and dual mode for either DC or DCC operation. While the model was displayed in an enclosed case, it is in mint condition with box, packing and paperwork.
