This is a Vollmer kit New in the Box. Whether set in the days when Shays and Heislers ruled the forests, or served by contemporary diesels and trucks, the Timber Lumber Company can be the centerpiece of any logging operation. Everything you'll need to start work is included, from the Dust Collectors, Milling Area, 2nd Story Loft with Overhead Crane to the Log Conveyor (Conveyor Belt can be Motorized--Motor Sold Separately). The Mill Building is enclosed with board and batten siding and covered with a single roof with skylights. This style is typical of permanent operations or those that ran in areas where the weather could turn cold. At the one side is a lower milling area, where fresh-cut boards are sorted with the second story loft above it. The loft has an Overhead Crane making for a neet look or for loading on to the railcars or trucks. The stairways on the outside of the building allows access to the second floor. And for the final touch, you get a Sawdust Collector, used to dispose of sawdust from the cutting operations. The set comes with a number of stacks of milled lumber. Typical of buildings constructed from the 1920s to the 1940s and still in use today, your finished model fits easily into steam- or diesel-era layouts. For more operating fun, this kit can be expanded with the Planning Mill (Sold Separately) or modernized with the Saw Mill Outbuildings (Sold Separately) both sold separately. Add the Fire & Flame Simulator (sold separately) to enhance the sawdust burner.
