1880s(?) 0-4-0 Handcrafted Brass Locomotive of unknown Japanese manufacture and imported by Ken Kidder. The model has never been run, and is pristine condition, with the exception of some discolorization of the metal surfaces due to ageing inside a closed box. It represents a Cabbage Stack wood-burning, saddle-tank switch engine. Its conformation makes it appear to be useful on a small privately-owned siding, or around a mine.Purchased in 1961, the model is a beautiful example of the then state of the art work produced by Japanese artisans. The original box has been lost, and the model will be carefully shipped in a small, secure replacement. It does not possess a front coupler.
