HO Proto 1000 # 31019 - Walthers - Illuminated - New York Subway car - Dark Green road # #6654 ( the pictures show a different car # with the same paint scheme ) New York City Transit - factory illiminated Below is some of the verbage from the excellent Walthers web site The route printing is very clear DUMMY - Well weighted -- These are much more than quality toys -- Directional Head Lights -- with fine detail all over Use these as an add on to your passenger system or as an elevated system---we use ours in the background to create that "busy" look This is about the 5th different paint Scheme of these fine cars-- NEW in the original box Post insured --- we will combine postage -- Foreign sales are welcome if you make multiple purchases, please wait for our combined invoice See the real thing @ The R17 class of cars was one of three fleets purchased in the mid-1950's to replace many of the pre-WWII Interboro Rapid Transit cars. There were 4000 cars in this class, all built by St. Louis Car Company. Among them were cars 6800-6809 which had air conditioning when delivered. The Air Conditioning experiment was considered a failure and the cars were refitted with the standard axiflow fans. As was the practice, the electrical components were split between General Electric (6500-6699) and Westinghouse Electric (6700-6899). The
