Early Mold Blown Aqua Blue Opalescent Lattice / Bubble Lattice Syrup Jug / Pitcher with applied smooth handle. Hobbs, Brockunier & Co. Wheeling. Civil War Era (I think, according to the date on lid and early style and construction of the spout) Aqua Blue Opalescent Syrup Jug Pitcher. I think the lid is pewter, it has some pitting underneath the cover. No rust. Lid is attached with plaster and the plaster is discolored from age and use. Lid is dated, patented Sept 24, 1807 or 1867, I think it's 1867. Hobbs, Brockunier South Wheeling Glass Works was in operation in the last quarter of the ninteenth century. So that would date the piece correctly. Can be seen in Bill Edwards Standard Encyclopedia of Opalescent Glass(1995) Syrup has a smooth applied handle and measures 6 1/4" T. Condition: Very Good condition. (see pics) T are some internal air bubbles (see pics) No breaks, chips or cracks. Lid in good working order. Lid is tarnished and needs polishing, but I'll leave that up to the new owner. Please email me with any ?'s that you have. I describe items honestly and accurately as possible. Due to different variables of lighting when taking photos....I cannot guarantee the colors to be exact as seen on your computer screen, as every computer is different....however, I will do my best to describe the colors as best as I can.
