Four Hoboken & Hudson River Turnpike Co stock certificates issued to John Meeks, W.A. Weatherbee, Francis Price Esq. and David Pollock, dated July 10, 1858 and signed by J.H. Gautier, President ( believe that is the signature). They are issues No 16, 23, 24, 26 for 20, 20, 5 and 10 shares respectively. From the little bit of information I've been able to find, this company and other small rail companies in New Jersy were eventually absorbed into the New Jersey Junction Railroad Co. All the certificates are in "as found" condition from the paper collection of my late husband and have been stored since the early 1990's in the same box. I believe he bought them many years before they went to storage. From a smoke-free, pet-free home. No odors.
