This vintage covered candy jar is a true piece of art! It was produced by the Hocking Glass Company of Lancaster, Ohio between 1930 and 1934. It is in the Cameo pattern (also sometimes called "Ballerina"), and features a tiny dancing girl set among the ornate etched loops and swirls that make up this gorgeous pattern. This jar and lid are made of green uranium glass (sometimes incorrectly referred to as Vaseline glass). This means that the glass was infused with a small amount of uranium when it was being cast. The coolest part about uranium glass is that it fluoresces under black light as shown in the photos! Cameo might not be the rarest of depression patterns (although it isn't exactly garage sale stuff either!), but in my opinion it is among the most beautiful. This piece measures 6" in diameter at the base and 4 3/4" at the lip. The jar itself stands 2 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" with the lid. It is in absolutely flawless condition, and would be the pride of any collection. Don't miss this opportunity to own one of the most stunning pieces of depression glass you'll ever see! D11500ES
