You are bidding on a 'BEAUTIFUL MUSICAL INSTRUMENT!' This is a '35 HOLE ~ 2 REED HOHNER CHROMATICA HARMONICA!' This was 'MADE IN GERMANY!' M. HOHNER! This accompanied with the 'ORIGINAL BOX!' The Harmonica and the box are both in 'GREAT' condition. Very Shiny! Marbled Comb! 'Six Star Logo!' SPECIFICS: PICTURES: I'm showing several pictures; this is so you might get a better view. HARMONICA: MEASUREMENTS: This measures about 14" Long; About 1 5/16" Wide at the bottom; About 7/8" At the top; About 1 3/8" High. TEXT ~ MARKINGS: SIDE 1: M. HONER'S CHROMATICA N o 261, (There is a 5 Pointed Star between the M & H; Trade Mark, Made in Germany, FABRIQUEENALLEMAGNE; There is a Logo in the center, (2 Hands Holding a Circle, There is a 6 Pointed Star in the middle of the circle, GESETZL GESCH). SIDE 2: This side shows the embossing of a Piano Keyboard; There are some Numbers & Letters on the Keys. CONDITION: This is in 'BEAUTIFUL' condition; Hardly shows any wear. DATE OF MANUFACTURE: There are 2 indicators that place the manufacture of this Hohner Harmonica to 1930 to 1937; FIRST: The 6 pointed Star indicates this Harmonica was produced from around 1930 to maybe 1937; It is my understanding that the German Government demanded that the 6 Pointed Star be removed, because they thought it represented the Star of David, The Jewish Symbol; It is my understanding that the 6 pointed star did indeed represent the 6 Founders of the Hohner Company; Guess What?..The Star was removed; So, if there is a 6 Pointed Star the Harmonica (As There Is On This One) it was produced between 1930 & 1937; If there isn't a star, the Harmonica was produced after 1937. SECOND: The Comb has a Marbled Finish; This is another indicator that this Harmonica was produced between 1930 &1937; Later models showed a Solid Finish to the Comb. DOES IT WORK: Yes; This works 'PERFECTLY'; This has a 'Beautiful Sound'; It sounds like there is a double sound, I guess from the 2 reeds, (I'm not sure); That is how it sounds to me. BLOW ONLY: That means that it only makes a sound when you 'BLOW' into the Harmonica; It DOES NOT make any sound when you 'Suck In'; Hence... BLOW ONLY. BOX: MEASUREMENTS: This measures about 14 5/8" x 1 3/4" x 1 5/8". CONDITION: This is in 'GREAT' condition; NO CORNER BUMPS! NO RIPS! NO SPLITS! ISSUE: inside section has a slight split (2 1/2") along one of the corners, (You can see this in the picture). TEXT: M. Hohner's Chromatica Germany; N o. 261. Well, that's about the game!
