Hoi An Hoard blue & white decorated JARLET 2-3/8" in diameter 1-7/8" high MING DYNASTY With original HOI AN HOARD inventory barcode numbers .Every artifact out of this shipwreck was given inventory numbers (barcode) by archeologists. They have been tested and are LEAD FREE COMPRESSED MELON SHAPEGLOBULAR BODY WITH SHORT NECK, DECORATED The exterior sides painted in cobalt blue CONDITION : These have been in seawater for over 500 years Chips, marine encrustation, minor staining and degrading of glaze. This one has NO major big chips or cracks Has some very minor chips along the rims Cobalt blue is still bright Glaze still shiny Has very minor crackling of the glazel NO staining . The recovery of the Hoi An ship's cargo is believed to redefine the art-historical relationship between Vietnam and China, enlarge knowledge of fifteenth/sixteenth century Asian trade, and revolutionize the scholarship and understanding of Vietnamese ceramics.
