MID 15th CENTURY With original HOI AN HOARD inventory barcode numbers .......... THIS IS ALSO THE COA ..... Every item out of this shipwreck was given a inventory number (bar-code stickers) by archeologists IN 1999 WHEN THEY SALVAGED THESE CERAMICS OUT OF THE SHIPWRECK FROM THE DEPTHS OF THE DRAGON SEA (SOUTH CHINA SEA OF THE COAST OF VIETNAM. JARLET SHAPED AS A POMEGRANATE BODY DECORATED WITH BIRDS , BEE, BUTTERFLIES AND TREES and or BAMBOOThe exterior sides painted in cobalt blue THE LAST 2 PHOTOS ARE OUT OF THE BUTTERFIELD'S AUCTION CATALOG from 11-13-2000 held in San Francisco & Los Angeles CONDITION : These have been in seawater for over 500 years Chips, marine encrustation, minor staining and degrading of glaze. This one has NO big chips or cracks Has tiny chips (rims) Glaze is still EXTREMELY shiny Has NO crazing HAS almost NO staining HAS no encrustations COBALT BLUE is a still EXTREMELY BRIGHT Has NO oxidized spots Cobalt blue pigment and salt turned into sparkling silver/gold colored spots ONE OF THE NICEST ONES I HAVE SEEN Provenance: OFFICIAL MARINE EXCAVATION & Butterfields auction COA inventory number 27787 These have been tested and are LEAD FREE THESE ARE MY OTHER SHIPWRECK POTTERY
