Beautifully detailed 1/1250 scale model by CM of the Holland America Line's Harland & Wolff-built STATENDAM (II) completed during World War I and lost in July, 1918 while serving as a troop ship under White Star Line management. She'd been renamed JUSTICIA by the British government to commemorate the loss of the LUSITANIA in 1915. Very sturdily made, the JUSTICIA sank only after suffering no fewer than seven torpedo strikes by three attacking submarines. She remained afloat at that for nearly 24 hours after the initial explosion. With this model, CM has imagined the STATENDAM painted in the Holland America livery she didn't survive the war to wear on the North Atlantic. This model in in perfect condition; it will be securely shipped in its original box.
