Fresh from a fine local estate comes an absoluteley superb pair of side tables that I am attributing to Maison Jansen circa 1960. These tables would be absolutely perfect for a gentleman's study or a den. Their masculine overtone reminds me very much of the work of Jacques Adnet or Pierro Fornasetti. I can fins absolutely no markings on these tables. Each table base is composed of stained wood. The wood bases are accented with bronze corner pieces. The top of each table is composed of a reverse painted black glass and features a circular map in golds, tans, and deep oranges. Absolutely EXQUISITE! I don't believe these would be considered verre eglomise, but they are similar in nature to that technique. The top is framed out in bronze as well. Each table is in excellent vintage condition with light scratching to the wood bases(this could easily be touched up if desired) and light scratching to the glass tops typical of age. Each meaures approx 18" w x 18" d x 12 3/8" h. I have the long coffee table that matches these(see picture below) in another auction so please take a look.
