Sixth Plate Daguerreotype or Ambrotype Case. Holmes, Booth and Hayden advertises "ambrotype goods" within.
Condition: This is a nice Holmes, Booth and Hayden example. T is a small chip w the latch is. The hinges are very loose, but t is no chipping around the hinges. One of the hinges is detached from one half of the case. T are small "fleabites" and t The white stuff you see is a chalky substance that comes right off. I didn't notice this until I took the photos, and I was too lazy to take them again. All and all a nice display piece. The buyer should probably secure the hinges so that t is no further deterioration with further handling. I am not sure how to do this. Please see my photos, I tried to show as much detail as I could.
