This too cute Holt Howard Pixie has as much wit today as it had in 1959 back when it was produced in Japan. It is one of many Pixie kitchen kitsch items manufactured under the Hold Howard name. Of course, this one is by far the cutest standing 7.75 inches tall and around 6 inches wide. The fifties easy quick cheese whiz fun days meant pretzels and cheese cubes were "hors d'oeuvres". How perfect to stack pretzels on this funky hand painted green up doo and off the ears while you can still put toothpicks in the body and cheese cubes around the tray. Just look at that face if you want a smile! OK, now you are all set to bid high on this fun and wacky item but wait, let's talk condition. First off, I want to say the paint is great, the crazing is so minor its hardly noticeable and the bottom plate couldn't be much better but the head of this happy fellow has been re-glued on. I do want to point out that it was a clean break and the glue can be redone, today's glues are much more efficient and unseeable. Other than this issue, it's a terrific piece, no other chips, cracks, or breaks and if nothing else, check out the base! T is still the original H H made in Japan foil label!! If you have a perfect top, why not switch out the base? I know this piece is highly sought after and fairly rare on the Holt Howard-o-meter so I am hoping someone will over look the break and give this Pixie a place in their collection. We don't have a lot of rules or regulations, just honest transaction. Thank you for your interest and have a terrific day.Ruth
