The Holy Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments: Translated out of the Original Tongues; and with the Former Translations Diligently Compared and Revised New York: Stereotyped by A. Chandler, for the American Bible Society, 1828. 7th Ed. Attractively bound in original weathered leather, with inset borders. Light wear to extremities of boards and spine with some rounding and rubbing, with both boards firm at the hinges. Pages lightly browned, stained, and foxed, a few with corners torn. All pages bound. Inscribed on first EPs, pastedown in front, and a few leaves before the NT title by the Briggs/ Williams family of Moscow, Maine. Includes Civil War veteran Cyrus Briggs of the Kennebec Arsenal. Rare early American pocket Bible, measures 5.5" x 3.5" x 2".
