This is truly a rare find. From Circa 1887, this was a premium bible that was...and still is... gorgeous and breathtakingly rare. ..and it holds a rich history, owned by the Draper family, and most notable, noted medal holder and WWI war hero Charles Draper. Presenting... The Holy Bible, Containing the Authorized Edition of the New Testament, AD 1611, and the Revised Version of AD 1881, Arranged in Parallel Columns; with Complete Concordance, etc. Philadelphia: A J Holman & Co, 1887. This gorgeous Bible is LOADED with color plates, Gustave Dore plates, and THOUSANDS of other illustrations...not to mention besides the beautifully decorated and tooled covers, it has a working gothic style silver clasp! ! RARE indeed, especially in this kind of condition. Family Record (1833-1938) for births, deaths and marriages with decorative marginalia, family names mentioned are all DRAPER . At the rear of the Bible, there are even some newspaper obituaries taped in, with more mention of Charles Draper and his War Valor, as well as a newspaper clipping of General Pershing.
