Truly an incredible & unique piece of US History! You are bidding on FOUR-6 5/8" Restaurantware Cereal or Ice Cream Bowls made in the USA by the Homer Laughlin China Company as commissioned by the US Navy. Featured in a recent edition of "House and Garden", it was used by the US Navy for their Wardroom Officer's Mess Hall Dining from WWII and into the mid-1900's. At this time, the pattern was no longer available since the Officers were allowed to take pieces of the pattern with them when their tour of duty expired. White with navy blue outside border, inner verge and anchor insignia. Hand-crafted, hand-stenciled, hand-glazed to endure the test of time and life on the sea, this is the perfect nautical gift for that special sailor or US Naval career-man in your life. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, pattern, color wear or staining. Please see my other auctions. Happy to combine to save on shipping.
