THIS IS A RELISTED AUCTION. The previous winning bidder has been released from his purchase without any penalty. Seems the elderly gentleman who suffers from cornea edema was attempting to surprise his wife with this item; however, upon winning and surprising his wife with the purchase, he found out it was the wrong "Spring" pattern. The wife then called to explain what happened upon receipt of the invoice. So goes -- the "Buy Now" is the previous winning bid. Offered in this auction is a lovely 66-piece set of Holmes & Edwards Silverplate Flatware in the popular 1949 Spring Garden pattern. This is a 5-piece place setting for 12; however, t are only 3 soup spoons. The storage chest is included and the pieces are as follow: Twelve 9 1/4" Modern Hollow Knives & Twelve 7 1/2" Dinner Forks & Twelve 6 3/4" Individual Salad Forks & Twenty-four 6 1/4" Teaspoons & Three 7 1/8" Round Bowl Soup Spoons Gumbo & One 6" Sugar Spoon & One 6 3/4" Flat Handle Master Butter Knife & One 6 1/4" Gravy Ladle, Solid Piece. This set is in very good condition with only the expected scratches from use through the years. No heel wear, bent tines, chipped rims or blades are noticed. The pieces are identified as "HOLMES & EDWARDS INLAID IS". The wooden chest which might be mahogany is also in very good condition with a rich claret and linen lining.
