HOn3 Brass Rio Grande Southern 4-6-0 #20. Motor in Tender. Produced in Japan by United Models for Pacific Fast Mail in 1960's. NO RESERVE AUCTION . The durable prototype of this model was built by Alco for Colorado's Florence & Cripple Creek Railroad in 1899. After severe flooding put the F&CC out of business in 1915, the Rio Grande Southern acquired #20. On their rails, #20 continued in service until the RGS succumbed to financial woes in 1951. Fortunately for railfans, #20 was preserved and ended up at the Colorado Rail Museum where it has been stored until recently transported to Pennsylvania for operational restoration. The model is from one of PFM's three mid-1960's imports of the model. The original box is missing (it will be carefully packed for shipping). The model features a tender-mounted open-frame motor which transfers power to the drivers using a flexible shaft which connects to a u-joint in the cab. The model test runs with typical noise and wobble. Some additional fine-tuning can result in a smooth-running gem! Don't miss out on this chance to add a classic near-50-year-old Japanese brass steamer to your narrow gauge collection. Submit your bids! THE OPENNING BID PRICE HAS BEEN LOWERED.
