This auction features a rare Hootch Owl corkscrew. It has a “Double Lever”. As you twist the entire piece, thecorkscrew goes down into the cork, and the arms raise up. Then you pull down both levers and the cork will come out of the bottle. Not only does it remove corks, it lifts caps, lifts ice cubes and grips screw caps.
"Hootch - Owl" is marked on both sides of the piece. The shank is straight and marked "PAT D-89868" on one side. Not like most which are marked "Pat Applied for" . We believe this item was made shortly after the patent was approved in the1930's.
It is in excellent condition with great patina. If the winning bidder wanted it to shine, they could polish it.
This is a unique and wonderful piece!
