The Hazel-Atlas Glass company manufactured this set of four different Hopalong Cassidy mugs beginning in the 1940's. Weatherman's Colored Glassware of the Depression Era 2 references the mugs on page 126. Hazel-Atlas called its milk glass "platonite." Each has Hoppy, a favorite cowboy hero, on the frong brandishing his six shooters. T are four different scenes depicted on the reverse side of the mug. The black one shows him rounding up a bad guy -- the green, Hoppy on his horse, Topper, -- the red, cattle branding -- the blue, ready to lasso a bull -- all action packed scenes reminiscent of the 1940's television series. The mugs are all in excellent condition -- no chips, cracks, scratches. The red mug has a little wear around the outside top edge, but all mugs still have their glossy finishes. Nice and clean inside and out. No residue. Graphics are clear and bright. Great set for your collection!
