You are bidding on this pretty Hopi Kachina Doll by noted Second Mesa carver Merlin Kopelua. Carved of cottonwood and adorned with grasses, feathers, twine and leather, this piece is made in the Hopi style. The kachina itself stands 8 inches tall, and if you figure in the tall grasses attached to the sides of the head, the total height measures in at 12-1/2 inches. One of the feet has the markings of three clouds,the "trademark" of Kopelua, while the other sports the artist's name. As with all of my offerings, the doll comes from a smoke-free home. It's a nice piece to add to your Native American Kachina collection.
